Final Fantasy VII received a mod that increased the resolution of its pre-rendered backgrounds earlier this year by using the A.I. This isn’t the only retro game in recent history that’s received a massive graphical facelift with the help of A.I. DcCharge has said he may look into upscaling these files at a later date. GigaPixel, Waifu2x, GIMP 2, ImageMagick, and others to increase the quality of 13,000 textures from the base New Vegas game and 2,000 textures from all DLC released for the title.ĭespite the massive scope of the texture pack, DcCharge was unable to upscale textures for billboards, the user interface, and all level-of-detail textures. Released by modder DcCharge, the texture pack used software like A.I. A new texture pack for Fallout: New Vegas released this week used several imaging systems with A.I to upscale about 15,000 textures. Apparently, older video games are also getting some love from A.I.
